Funds for this project have been allocated in the COBG
Accounts No.'s 121-52544-01887-0019 and 121-52544-01887-0027.
An amount of $86,000.00 has been allocated for Waterman Avenue
and an amount of $273,000.00 has been allocated for the various
downtown locations. Total funds available are $359,000.00.
Negotiations are currently being held with the Southern
California Edison Company relative to purchasing City owned
street lights. In view of these negotiations, it doesn't seem
prudent to expend funds to install additional City street
lights. Therefore, we recommend that the award of this contract
be rescinded.
The contract document states that the Contractor cannot
wi thdraw his bid for a period of 60 days. A letter has been
received from the Contractor agreeing to an extension of 60
days, which will allow us to hold the bids until 3-20-91. Hope-
fully, this extension will provide sufficient time for
negotiations to be concluded and a decision made on the sale of
City street lights.
