STAFF REPORT
The Water Department commenced work on projects within the Five
Year Capital Improvement Program set forth in the 1990 Water System
Master Plan Report. In July, 1990, Certificates of Participation
were issued in the amount of $9.57 million through the West End
Water Development, Treatment, and Conservation Authority. The
major focus of the five year plan is to build the necessary
facilities to provide for moving water from the south end of the
system (pressure zone) to the north end of our system. Demand in
the higher elevations will exceed the source of supply, especially
during dry years.
The purchase of this property is for a reservoir at 1249'
elevation to match the Lytle Creek and Waterman reservoirs for
additional water storage, and as an integral link in the boosting
chain to move water to the higher elevations. We will ultimately
build 14 million gallons of reservoir capacity at this location.
The first phase calls for a 5 million gallon reservoir. The
property 'is located between Cajon Boulevard and Medical Center
Drive just South of the crosstown freeway (see attached map).
The Board of Water Commissioners, at their regular meeting held on
September 18, 1990, unanimously voted to approve the acquisition
of the property (2.26 acres).
It is recommended that the Corporation Grant Deed be accepted and
the property be dedicated for Water Department use.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO ACCEPTING A CORPORATION GRANT DEED FROM SAN GORGONIO
LAND COMPANY FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF CAJON
BOULEVARD AND MEDICAL CENTER DRIVE AND DEDICATING IT FOR WATER
DEPARTMENT USE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: The City of San Bernardino hereby accepts the
Corporation Grant Deed from San Gorgonio Land Company, a California
corporation, as set forth in Exhibit "1" attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at
length herein.
SECTION TWO: That the property acquired herein is dedicated
for Water Department use.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San

That portion of the MUSCUPIABE RANCHO, being in Section 29,
Township 1 North, Range 4 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian,
if said lines were extended across said Rancho, lying partly
within and partly outside of the City of San Bernardino, as per
plat recorded in Book 7 of Maps, page 23, records of said County,
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the South line of the Rancho
Muscupiabe with the East line of said Muscott Street as
originally registered 40 feet wide; thence North along the East
line of said Muscott Street 302.80 feet; thence East parallel to
the South line of said Rancho Muscupiabe 641.73 feet to the West
