A classification review has been conducted on the one occupied Methoda and Standards Expeditor II position in the Public Services Department as requested by Manuel Moreno, Director of Public Services. A. It is recommended that the, Methods and Standards Expeditor II position be reclassified to Construction Inspector. The incumbent spends 75$ of the time inspecting the work of in-house crews and outside contractors. The remainder of the time is spent approving contractor's plans, issuing street cuts permits and meeting with contractors and utility companies. These duties are more consistent with existing city inspector classifications. The remaining vacant position of Methods and Standards Expeditor II would remain the same. B. The range for Construction Inspector is R1108 ($2222-2710/MO.), an increase of approximately 20$. The financial impact for the '89-90 fiscal year would be $5856. C. The Personnel Department has reviewed these pro- posals and recommends approval. The Council Personnel Committee reviewed this matter at its May 4, 1989, meeting and recommends approval by the full Council. II. The Library Board has recommended reclassifying the position of Administrative Operations Supervisor I R2114 ($1,953-2,627/Mo.) in the Library Administrative Office to an Administrative Operations Supervisor II R4125 ($2,496-3,043/Mo.), an increase of 16$. The Personnel Department conducted a job audit, as requested by the Librarian, Robert Ewing. A. By virtue of the duties performed it is recommended that the single class position be reclassified to Administrative Operations Supervisor II. The job audit revealed the duties, and level of responsi- bility of the position have increased significantly since the internal reorganization in 1984 and the 1986 City-wide class study. Based on a comparison of existing Administrative Operations Supervisor ICI positions, it was determined the position should be upgraded. B. The added cost in salary for fiscal year '89-90 is $4,992. 75-0264 C: ~ Q 4 ~ • C. The Personnel Department recommends the upgrade. The Council Personnel Committee reviewed the item at their May 4, 1989 meeting and recommends approval by~the full Common Council. III. Council approved a 'reorganization in November 1988, adopting a revised Resolution 6433, transferring the Vehicle Abatement Program from the Fire Department to the Public Buildings Division/Public Works Department, and adding the class of Assistant Superintendent for Maintenance and changing the title of Senior Parking Control Checker to Parking Control Supervisor. An update of Resolution 6413 is now incorporating said changes. This corresponds to the budget request the Public Buildings Division submitted last November and is in the Division's 1989-90 budget proposal. in addition, other minor adjustments are being made to three middle management class titles at the request of the Department Heads with the concurrence of our office. They are as follows: OLD TITLE NEW TITLE Recreation Center Manager I Community Center Manager I Recreation Center Manager II Community Center Manager II Dispatch Supervisor Dispatcher Supervisor PD-401B .
