Backaround
The Mayor and Common Council have previously approved the FY
1989/1990 CDBG Program Mix authorizing staff to solicit
proposals and approved CDBG applications for financial
assistance in the Administration and Capital Improvements
categories. On June 5, 1989, the Mayor and Common Council
continued action on the public service proposals until
further information could be provided.
Discussion
During the discussion conducted by the Mayor and Common
Council relating to public service requests for financial
assistance, questions arose from members of the Common
Council as to the reasons certain proposals were not recom-
mended for funding and the total number of such proposals. As
previously provided, a total of $258,600 is available in this
category (the maximum allowed by law) with proposals
totalling $603,263 submitted for consideration.
Attached please find public service fundinq recommendations
made by the Community Development Citizen Advisory Committee
(CDCAC) (Attachment "1"). Also attached is a synopsis of
those applications in the public services category not
recommended by the CDCAC for funding (Attachment "2").
