Recommended motion:
That the position of Executive Assistant to the City Administrator
be created for a period beginning June 6, 1989 and ending July 7,
1989 for the purpose of providing a smooth Mayoral transition and
that Resolution Nos. 6413 and 6433 be amended accordingly.

STAFF REPORT
In transitioninq from one Mayor to another there is a need
for continued staff assistance. The curren~ ~~~utive
Assistant to the M:ayor has siqnificant knowledq. of current
projects that will be valuable and of assiata!Jqet9~e !Jew
Mayor and his staff. .. (.
The City Administrator's Department has an unoccupied posi-
tion of Deputy City Administrator/Administrative services. A
portion of that salary can be used to fund a temporary
assiqnment. This assiqnment will include staff assistance
project transition to the new Mayor and staf~, ~ssistance in
the Norton project, and other projects aSdiJ:~Q~.",).bY th.e

specifically, a position of Temporary Executive Assistant to
the City Administrator is recommended. This position would
exist for a 30-day period. The salary and benefits for this
position would be equal to those of the Executive Assistant
to the Mayor.
