DESCRIPTION) Flnence: Council Notes: A ___...._ . .__ "1_ /5 . ., CITY OF SAN BERN"'DINO - REQUEST M COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT By State law, the City of San Bernardino must have a Con- flict of Interest Code which lists "designated employees" for the filing of annual Statements of Economic Interest. The City's Code was adopted March 1, 1982. Periodically, titles of designated employees change and the code must be updated. Each department was asked to submit the titles of designated positions which should file State- ments of Economic Interests on an annual basis. The City Attorney put them together and prepared Resolution No. 88-420 which was adopted November 7, 1988. During the discussion on Resolution No. 88-420, some Council Members suggested that the Police Captains be req~ired to file Statements of Economic Interests. City Attorney =i -< .:110 n 9, 1988 ClCI r- DATE: December UI m ~ ::0 ~ RE: Conflict of Interest Resolution In November of this year, your office took to the Council a revised Conflict of Interest Resolution that this office had prepared. The Council asked that we look at the possibility of adding the Police Department Captains to the list of employees with a responsibility to disclose for Conflict of Interest purposes. After discussing the matter with the Police Chief, we decided it was appropriate to include the Captains with the same disciosure categories as the Chief. Since the last resolution was prepared, we have also added the position of Senior Deputy City Attorney in our office and we have therefore also included this position.
