Notes: /7..jq, //'///1' /<2 tJ /0./ d - 75-0262 Agenda Item No. 1/ CITY OF SAN BERNODINO - REQUEST Fca COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT - The relocation of sewer facilities is being performed under an agreement with Caltrans in order to facilitate the con- struction of the Route 30 extension. During construction, utilities were encountered and as required to match existing construction operations. numerous unknown underground revisions to the plans were made field conditions and Cal trans I The cost for extra work, authorized by Change Order No. Two (due to plan revisions and unidentified underground util- ities) is $22,516.13, as determined on a time and material basis in accordance with Section 3-3 of the Standard SpeGification~. The total estimated project cost includes an amount of $65,641.00 for contingencies, which can be used to finance the additional costs incurred for this extra work. Caltrans is reimbursing the City for all costs incurred under this contract. The state has been invoiced for 90% of the project cost, including Change Order No. One, and has remitted to date, 68% of the construction costs. We recommend that Change Order No. Two be approved. All work was satisfactorily completed as of 12-13-88. The project was awarded for the low bid price of $422,859.00. Contract Change Orders No's One and Two increased the contract price to $452,719.95. Due to the actual quantities underrunning the estimated quantities in the bid documents for various minor items, the actual final contract price is $443,095.04, which is 9% below the budgeted construction funds.
