Synopsis of Previous Council action:
05-19-86 Resolution No. 86-185 adopted authorizing execution of
an Agreement with Kurt Meyer for architectural services.
Report on preliminary results of geotechnical investi-
gation by Geofon, Inc., accepted and filed.
Status report on total estimated cost overrun of
$165,000 referred to Legislative Review Committee.
Finding made that construction of fire station is needed
for health and safety reasons.

Recommended motion:
1. That Change Order No. SIX to the contract with Martin Jaska,
Inc., for the construction of a Fire Station at Tri-City
._. Complex, in accordance with Plan No. 7270, be approved; auth-
~ orizing the Contractor to install 2 street light conduits (60
L.F. each) for an increase in contract price of $858.00, from
$833.687.00 to $834,545.00.
2. That the work performed by the Contractor be approved
accepted, and that final payment be authorized at the

Resolution No. 87-378 adopted awarding contract to
Martin Jaska, Inc. for the low bid price of
$869,000.00.
11-19-87 --- Change Order No. ONE approved, reducing the contract
price by $87,487.00, from $869,000.00 to $781,513.00.
01-04-88 --- Change Order No. Two approved, authorizing the Con-
tractor to install various items of work increasing
the contract price by $3,118.00, from $781,513.00 to
$784,631.00.
03-21-88 -- Change Order No. Three approved, authorizing the
Contractor to install seven solid block wall sections
increasing the contract price by $2,200.00 from
$784,631.00 to $786,831.00.
04-18-88 -- Change Order No. Four approved, authorizing the
Contractor to install aluminum jambs on the roll-up
doors of the apparatus room for an increase in contract
price of $1,859.00, from $786,832.00 to $788,690.00.

STAFF REPORT

The plans prepared by the Architect called for the re-
location of an existing street light in front of the new Fire
Station. However, the existing street lighting system was the
older, direct burial street light conductor. The Contractor
agreed to install a new, City-furnished street light in lieu of
relocating the existing light, which would bring the
installation up to current standards. In order to provide
electrical service, the installation of two conduits was
required beneath the new driveway approach. The Contractor
performed this work on a time and material basis for a total
cost of $858.00. Contract Change Order No. Six will authorize
the Contractor to install these conduits, increasing the
contract price by $858.00, from $833,687.00 to $834,545.00.
