MOTION:
That the Community Development Commission approve a
ninety (90) day extension of the authority to pay
Highland Empire Security Patrol for security services at
the Bankruptcy Court in an amount not to exceed $12,000,
and that staff be directed to solicit bids for security
services at this location .

STAFF REPORT
Security Services - BankruDtcv Court
On May 4, 1994, the Agency issued a purchase order in the amount of
$25,000 to Highland Empire Security Patrol for security services at the
United States Bankruptcy Court located at 699 North Arrowhead Avenue
based upon an executive order issued by Mayor Tom Minor.
Currently, there is one (1) armed security guard at the Bankruptcy
Court for ten (10) hours each business day between the hours of 7:30
a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost of the security guard is $17.00 per hour
for a total of $170 per day, or an approximate total of $3,900.00 per
month.
The purchase order issued on May 4, 1994 has a remaining balance of
approximately $1,000. In order to continue with the security services
provided at the Bankruptcy Court, staff is asking approval of a ninety
(90) day extension with Highland Empire Security Patrol in an amount
not to exceed $12,000, and staff is seeking authorization to solicit
bids for continued security services at the Bankruptcy Court location
based upon the currently security configuration.
Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.
