James Sharer-Management/Confidential-3rd Quarter
As a result of Jim's actions, in order to help control the City's
rising utility costs, Jim helped initiate negotiations with the
Southern California Edison Company to form a partnership with them
with the goal of implementing energy efficiency improvement
projects for a number of city facilities, at no cost or risk to San
Bernardino residents.
The Edison Company will front approximately $900,000 to install
energy-saving equipment at City Hall. Additionally, the city will
benefit by having modernized energy efficient equipment at various
City facilities, as well as save the City money on energy costs.

Working under the handicap of reduced staff and temporary help,
Adrienne not only streamlined the workload of her position, she
eliminated several redundant functions. Working with the Refuse
Superintendent and Office Supervisor, procedures and tracking were
standardized, several computer applications were implemented,
innovative use of the computer system was initiated and overall
efficiency was improved. Her positive attitude has spilled over
onto her co-workers. The refuse customer service representatives
appear to be happy and enjoy their work. .
Her positive attitude has increased
relationships with other departments and

Re: San Bernardino Truck Dismantling Facility - AEP 1994 Award
At the AEP 1994 Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 17, 1994, the
City accepted the AEP Award for John Mueller in his absence. I
think we agreed that it would be a nice gesture for the award to be
presented to John at the Mayor and Common Council meeting on
December 19th. The following is some suggested language for your
presentation of the award to John.
"The City of San Bernardino accepted this award on your behalf
from the Association of Environmental Professionals, Inland
Empire Chapter. The award is for the San Bernardino Truck
Dismantling facility in recognition of excellence in the
category of Innovation and Applicability to Environmental
Management in 1994. At this time, the City is pleased and
proud to PI:esent this award to you for the AEP."
