STAFF REPORT
Complaints were received by this Department, after inspections
by Vehicle Abatement Officers, legal ten (10) day notices were
issued and mailed to land owners. Upon no response to the Abatement
Orders, the abandoned vehicles were abated by the City. Costs were
incurred by the City for abatement and are being liened on the
properties.

RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING CERTAI
PARCElS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIN
FOR THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES (ABANDONED VEHICLES
ON SAID PROPERTIES.
WHEREAS, the city of San Bernardino, pursuant to its author it
under Chapter 8.36 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code,
did lawfully give notice of and thereafter abate public
found to exist on the properties listed below: and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, the
Director of Facilities Management Department served notice on al
property owners of the abatement costs for removing abandoned,
wrecked, dismantled, and/or inoperable vehicles or parts thereo
from the property: and
WHEREAS, opportunity for a hearing of the Board of Buildin
Commissioners to protest the abatement costs
property owners, with no response forthcoming:

COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIIIO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and Common Council confirm and adopt
as special assessments, the following abatement costs which hav
been incurred by the city for the abatement of public nuisance
found to exist on the following properties:

SECTION 2. The above assessments shall be paid to racilitie
Management Department, basement of City Hall, 300 No."D" Street,
San Bernardino, CA 92418, within thirty (30) days after notice 0
this resolution is mailed to all parties with an interest in th
above properties. All assessments not fully paid in thirty (30)
days shall become a lien on the property pursuant to The Sa
Bernardino Municipal Code and shall be collected as a special
assessment thereon.
SECTION 3. If the above assessment is not paid as hereinabov
provided, the City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy 0
this resolution with the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino,
State of California, directing that said assessment be entered as
a lien against the property as it appears on the current assessmen
rolls. The assessment shall be collected at the same time and i
the same manner as the general property taxes for the city of Sa
Bernardino including penalties and interest for delinquent
payments.
The City Clerk shall also present for recording appropriat
notices of the imposition of these liens with the County Recorder.
