Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
April 7,2008. The Mayor and Common Council adopted Resolution No. 2008-115 accepting a
grant from the Federal EDA.
Recommended Motion:

Authorize the Director of Finance to amend the FY07-08 budget to create a new capital
improvement project and to appropriate $3,750,000 in the Street Construction Fund, Account
No. XXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXX, for the "Construction of specified public infrastructure
improvements related to the North San Bernardino Industrial ParklFedEx Project as outlined in
the Federal Economic Development Administration Grant" and budget a corresponding revenue
reimbursement of$3,750,000 to be paid by Federal EDA and Hillwood.

STAFF REPORT
Subject:
Authorization for the Finance Director to create a new capital improvement project related to the
N0I1h San Bernardino Industrial ParklFedEx Project.
Background:
At their meeting of April I, 2008, the Grants Ad Hoc Committee recommended that the Mayor
and Common Council accept the $1,500,000 Federal Economic Development Administration
grant. The Mayor and Common Council accepted the grant at their meeting of April 7, 2008. The
Federal EDA Grant is for infrastructure improvements along the frontage of the Fed Ex Project
site including curb, gutter, sidewalk, and pavement rehabilitation. The project site is located on
the westerly side of Cajon Boulevard at the northwesterly portion of the City and the entire
project is estimated to cost $3,750,000.
Financial Impact:

There is no financial impact to the City. Staff is preparing a reimbursement agreement with
Hillwood, which will be scheduled for consideration by the Mayor and Common Council at a
later date.
