STAFF REPORT
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT AND IN HONOR OF NATIONAL POLICE WEEK
The Inland Empire Chapter 67 of the International Footprint Association will be hosting
the Annual Blue Ribbon Breakfast at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center on May 13,
2008 in recognition of National Police Week.
In commemoration of National Police Week, The Inland Empire Chapter 67 is requesting
that the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino adopt a resolution in honor of the
men and women oflaw enforcement.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO IN SUPPORT OF THE MEN AND WOMEN IN LAW
ENFORCEMENT AND BLUE RIBBON WEEK.

WHEREAS, the community's peace officers have long sustained a tradition of
performing their work to the highest quality possible in order to provide a better life
environment for others; and

WHEREAS, in an effort to preserve the continued commitment of all peace
officers and law enforcement agencies, the members of the "Support Our Law
Enforcement" Committee have designated the week of May 11 th, 2008 as "BLUE RIBBON
WEEK"; and
WHEREAS, "BLUE RIBBON WEEK" is intended to be a show of confidence in
all peace officers and law enforcement agencies by the general public and to provide a
tremendous morale booster for all the dedicated men and women wearing the badge for
the protection of our community; and

15 WHEREAS, each citizen displaying the blue ribbon during the week of May 11th,
16 2008 will demonstrate support for every police agency now serving the County of San
17 Bernardino and its cities.
18 NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council of the
19 City of San Bernardino that it hereby proclaims the week of May 11th, 2008 as "BLUE
20 RIBBON WEEK" in recognition and support of all peace officers and law enforcement
21 agencIes.
