HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-006 .- ~ 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 1 RESOLUTION NO. 87-6 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO TEMPORARILY CLOSING WESTERN AVENUE, BETWEEN FORTY-EIGHTH STREET AND RESERVOIR 3 DRIVE. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Findings: The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino make the following findings: A. Western Avenue, between Forty-eighth Street and Reservoir Drive in the City of San Bernardino, is not currently needed for vehicular traffic. B. The section of street designated in this resolu- tion is frequently used as an escape route for illegal activit- ies perpetrated on the adjacent residential community. C. Subsection (a) of California Vehicle Code Section 21101 authorizes local authorities to adopt rules and regulations by ordinance or resolution to temporarily close any highway to vehicular traffic when the highway is no longer needed for vehicular traffic. SECTION 2. Closing: Pursuant to subsection (a) of Section 21101 of the California Vehicle Code, the following street is temporarily closed: Western Avenue between Forty-eighth Street and Reservoir Drive. SECTION 3.
