Having the media involved in educating the public (residents and non-residents)
about the great history of San Bernardino, emphasizing the many cultural and
ethnic aspects
Tie in the "San Bernardino Bicentennial" with other events in the City, such as:
Black History month in February, Irish Parade in March, Cinco de Mayo, Greek
Festival. 4th of July, Little League in August, Route 66 in September, etc.
Involvement with the area schools
In the short amount of time since the formation of the committee, we have identified our major
goals. We realize there are less than two years left to plan and coordinate everything we would
like to do, but I believe with the high quality of the committee members and city staff, and their
enthusiasm and love for the City of San Bernardino, we will make the "San Bernardino
Bicentennial" a huge success.
Respectfully submitted,
Steven Shaw
Chairman
