RESOLUfION OF THE OTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUfHORIZING THE
OBLIGATION AND EXPENDITURE OF THE ALLOCATED OTIZENS' OPTION
FOR PUBLIC SAFETY (COPS OPTION) MONIES FOR FY 07/08 TO SUPPLEMENT
FRONT-LINE LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNOL OF THE
OTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The Mayor and Common Council of the Oty of San Bernardino
hereby authorize the obligation and expenditure of the allocated Otizens' Option for Public Safety
monies in the amount of $394,215. All expenditures will be used to supplement front-line law
enforcement services as defined in AB3229 as outlined in the COPS Option attached expenditure
plan submitted by the Chief of Police (Exhibit" A").

FY 2007/08 COPS Option Grant
Expenditure Plan Narrative
In FY 2007/08, the COPS Option Grant will provide a total of $394,215 to supplement front-line
law enforcement support services. COPS Option funding will be utilized for the following
expenditures.
COPS Universal Grant Retention Officers
$394,215 in COP Option funding will provide approximately 90.2% of the funding of the
salaries and benefits for the four police officer positions added to the Police Department's Table
of Organization as a requirement of the Revised Retention Plan for the COPS Universal Hiring
Grant. The remaining funding of $42,868 for the four police officer positions is budgeted in the
City's adopted General Fund budgetfor FY 2007/08.
