STAFF REPORT
PurphAse of the Fire Deuar-....t AccessorY Baui_ent
On April 19, 1993, the Mayor and Common Council approved an
appropriation of $1,043,245 for the purchase of three (3) pieces of
fire equipment.
Attached is a memorandum, dated April 21, 1993, from William L. Wright,
Fire Chief, outlining the cost of each piece of equipment (a ladder
truck and two (2) paramedic fire engines). The cost analysis in the
Fire Department memorandum indicated the basic components and accessory
equipment total $1,128,113.53 as opposed to the authorized amount of
$1,043,245. This is a difference of $84,868.53. The difference is
attributed to the Fire Department's subsequent addition of accessory
equipment for the ladder truck amounting to $67,607.01 and $8,633.82
additional for each of the paramedics vehicles.
Although critically needed, inclusion of the accessory equipment was
inadvertently omitted by the Fire Department. Regardless, the
accessories are necessary in order to make the equipment fully
functional and capable of responding to emergency and routine
situations in the field.
Therefore, the Development Department requests that the Mayor and
Common Council approve the additional amount of $84,868.58 increasing
the prior appropriation to $1,128,114.
Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.

and the appropriated amount of $1,043,245.00 is $84,868.53.
The difference is attributable to the accessory equipment for the

difference of $84,867.71 plus $.82 that was dropped from the
