CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT
Resolution of the City of San Bemardino amending Resolution No. 6413, Section Eleven,
establishing a basic compensation plan (Mid-Management Unit).
BACKGROUND
The contract with the Middle-Management employees expired on June 30, 2002. The City Team
and the San Bemardino Public Employees' Association (SBPEA) held ten (10) negotiation
sessions. On August 27, 2002, both sides reached tentative agreement on a successor
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and member ratification.
On September 9, 2002, in closed session, the Mayor and Common Council approved the new
contract for the Mid-Management employees.
Effective September 1,2002, a four percent (4%) Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) will be
given. This COLA will result in the entire pay scale moving upward by four percent (4%).
This resolution is being amended to reflect the above salary increase.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to amend this resolution.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution.
