POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS
The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other personnel
actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the September -9, 2002 Council
meeting.

GENERAL FUND
6. Administrative Clerk II (Lettries. S.) - Appointment
PUBLIC SERVICES
This appointment fills a recently vacant position that performs clerical support for the
Refuse Manager and Supervisors. The position will alleviate the problem of lacking
clerical staff at the City Yard Refuse Division by assisting in responding to refuse request
for service and calls. This will increase production of the Refuse Manager and Refuse
supervisors by allowing this position to handle correspondence and follow-up, and other
related clerical duties.
7.
Forensic Specialist II (Donathan. C) - Promotion
POLICE
The Forensic Specialist I is considered a probationary trainee position to the Forensic
Specialist II. The promotion occurs when a Forensic Specialist I demonstrates the skill,
ability, and proficiency to be raised to the next level. The promotion occurs after review
and recommendation of the unit's supervisor. This employee has been in his current
position for over two-years and has demonstrated the skill and expertise necessary to
warrant a promotion at this time.

Administrative Clerk I (Neal. 0.) - Provisional Appointment
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
This appointment fills the recently vacated position assigned to the Lobby area. This
position provides customer service and directs visitors to City Hall. Additionally the
position provides back-up clerical support for the department.
