POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS
The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other
personnel actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the April
2,2001 Council meeting.
CLASSIFIED
GENERAL FUND
1. Tvoist Clerk III (Benitez. Carmencita) - Appointment
FIRE
The Typist Clerk III position is essential to the operation of the Fire Prevention
Division. This position handles customer service (front counter/telephone), all
clerical duties and serves as the secretary to the Division Chief and office staff.
This position will become vacant upon the promotion of the current employee.
4. Senior Civil Enaineer (Kim. Youn) - Promotion
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Senior Civil Engineer position within the Public Works Design Division is
responsible for engineering review of land development plans and in improving
direct customer service and quality control in this area. One of the
responsibilities of this position is attendance at Development/Environmental
Review Committee meetings and providing specific input on proposed
development projects. Areas addressed include assuring that new developments
reflect proper dedications for public improvements such as sidewalks, streets,
etc., and meet State Subdivision Map Act standards and federal standards.
Mr. Kim has been with the City as an Associate Engineer since 1979 and has
demonstrated his technical abilities and dedication. He possesses the minimum
qualifications for the Senior Civil Engineer position and department management
feels that he will be an asset to the department. His long history with the Public
Works Division and his knowledge of past projects and developments will aid him
in the performance of this more responsible level position.
5. Administrative Analvst I (Camarena. Norma) - Promotion
FIRE
The Administrative Analyst I will be filled by our current Typist Clerk III employee.
The Administrative Analyst I position handles the Fire Department financial
projects, staff reports, budget, etc.
