RESOLUTION O~ THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO RATIFYING THE
FOLLOWING GOALS OF THE MAYORtS YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, young people exert a substantial influence on
modern society and recognizing that major changes in society
have affected their mental attitudes, their family relationships
and their social economic and political welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of San Bernardino has
commissioned the Mayor1s Youth Advisory Council to study problems
affecting the youth of the City and to make recommendations which
would improve their general welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor1s Youth Advisory Council has
established the following goals in order to improve the general
welfare of the youth of the city.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To review the work of the Mayor1s Youth
Council in previous years for the purpose of improving, retaining
and creating successful programs for youth.
SECTION 2. To recommend to the Mayor and City Council
programs which will provide employment opportunities for youth
of the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION 3. To recommend to the Mayor and City Council,
programs through the Park and Recreation Department or other
appropriate city departments providing activities, classes and
counseling for ages 4 - 21.

SECTION 4. To assist other agencies with existing
projects.
SECTION 5. To disseminate news and information concern~
ing the achievements of young people in the City of San Bernardino
and the work of the Mayor's Youth Council.
SECTION 6. To provide a forum for those people and
service agencies operating within the City in connection with
youth.
SECTION 7. To recommend programs whereby young people
of the City of San Bernardino can raise funds to assist in
providing programs for youth.
SECTION 8. To investigate the recreational needs of
youngsters under adolescent ages in order to create programs of
value for them.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregOing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
