HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-123 I RESOLUTION NO. 7'l-/d3 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE NEED BASIS GRANT APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE ROBERTI- 3 Z'BERG URBAN OPEN-SPACE AND RECREATION PROGRAM. 4 WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of California has 5 enacted the Urban Open-Space and Recreation Program, which pro- 6 vides funds to certain political subdivisions of the State of 7 California for acquiring lands and for developing facilities with- 8 in urban areas to meet urban recreation needs; and 9 WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has 10 been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the II program, setting up necessary procedures governing application by 12 local agencies under the program; and 13 WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Depart- 14 ment of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by 15 resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of 16 said applications to the state; and 17 WHEREAS, said applications contain a certification that 18 the applicant will comply with all federal, state, and local 19 environmental, public health, relocation, affirmative action, and 20 clearinghouse requirements and all other appropriate codes, laws 21 and regulations prior to the expenditure of the grant funds; and 22 WHEREAS, the project(s) applied for under this program must 23 be of a high priority and satisfy the most urgent park and 24 recreation needs with emphasis on unmet needs in the most heavily 25 populated areas, 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CO~~ON 27 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 28 . . . . . The filing of an application for Need Basis Grant funding under the Urban Open-Space and Recreation Program is approved for the development of Blair Park in the amount of 4 $103,034.00. 5 SECTION 2. The City of San Bernardino certifies that it 6 understands the general provisions of the agreement. 7 SECTION 3. The City of San Bernardino has or will have 8 sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project funded under 9 this program. 10 SECTION 4.
