HomeMy WebLinkAbout3054 i Ii I i II 1 ORDINANCE NO. ~lJ 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF S_~RDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 AF 3 CHAPTER 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4:OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT I CODE PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES. 4 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 5'I DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ! I 6 SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects ry~ to avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of 8 Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Sections 9~ 43tl90 et seq, said provisions setting forth the alternative 10 method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein 11 and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of i 12; San Bernardino; and until further order, the assessment of taxable i 131 property within the said City, and the levy and collection of 14I taxes for revenue to carry on the various departments of said 15 City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be 16 assessed, levied and. collected as provided in said Code and the 17 Charter of said City. 18 SECTION 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, pursuan 19i to Section 43tl93 of said Government Code, to transmit to the legis i 20' lative body of the City of San Bernardino a written statement 21 showing the total value of all property within said City, includ- 22 ing the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was originally i 23 constituted, and all property subsequently annexed thereto, as 24 described in an ordinance of said City concerning Annexation '~ 25 District Nos. 1 to 233 inclusive9 and Nos. 235 and 236. I 2g SECTION 3: Immediately upon the adoption of this ordi- try nance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with 2gi the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino. 2g 'I, SECTION 4. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency 30~ measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public 311~I health, safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate I ~ 32 I, effect pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City.
