RESOLUTION NO.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER TO FILE FY 1983/84 PROJECT
PROPOSALS WITH THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS
FOR $24,700.00 OF FUNDS APPORTIONED PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA PUBLIC
UTILITIES CODE, SECTION 99233.3, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS SENATE
BILL 821, FOR BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 821 of 1976, ultimately enacted and now
existing as Public Utilities Code Section 99233.3, provides that
2% of the Local Transportation Funds of certain counties,
including San Bernardino County, be set aside and used to fund the
development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS ,~estrian facilities are included in the
cirCUlation element of the General Plan adopted by the City of San
Bernardino; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino desires to construct
c~rtain pedestrian facilities utilizing the funds made available
under said code provision,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Director of Public Works/City Engineer is
authorized to file FY 1983/84 project proposals with the Southern
California Association of Governments tor $24,700.00 of funds
apportioned pursuant to California Public Utilities Code Section
99233.3, commonly referred to as Senate Bill 821.
SECTION 2. The Director of Public Works/City Engineer is
authorized to sign the project proposals for TDA Bicycle and
pedestrian Facilities Funds pursuant to Public Utilities Code
Section 99233.3, et seq., and is designated as the City's contact
person.

SECTION 3. All TDA Bicycle and pedestrian Facilities Funds
disbursed to the City of San Bernardino for FY 1983/84 shall be
used for construction of pedestrian facilities in accordance with
the Circulation Element of the City's adopted General Plan.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
