AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURmmT YEAR
UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERfi WITHIN THE CI~ (Jf SAN BERNARDINO. IN
ORDER '1'0 PROVIDE A REVEIroE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF
SAID CITro AND TO PAY THE BONDED All> OTHER IJIDEBTEDNESSTHEREOF.
THE KAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF TaE Clft OF SAN BERBARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied tor the pzo.8ent
7 tisoal year, beginning July 1. 1958, and ending June 30. 1959, on
8 all property within the oorporate limits ot the City ot San Bernar-
9 dino. a pl"operty tax ot tl.0123 upon each one hundred dollars. .
10 using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the
11 County ASlessor ot the County of San Bernardino, as the same may
12 be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the tax 80
13 levied and to be oollected i8 hereby appropriated 88 tollows:

25 payment ot the obllgetion8 of the City of San Bernardino to the
26 stste Employees' Retire_nt System.

SECTION THREE: That there is also hereby levied for 8aid

1 preservation or the public peaoe, health and safety, in that this
2 Ordinanoe is adoptedpur8uant to the provi8ionsot' Seotion 131 ot
3 the Charter ot' said City, and an Aot ot' the Legislature ot' the
4 state of California, approved March 27, l8~5, therein referred to,
5 by the provisions of which Act this Ordinanoe must take effect
6 before the last Tuesday in AugU8t, 1958, in order to levy a valid
7 tax t'or the purposes aforesaid, and without whioh Ordinanoe and tax
8 there will be no revenue or funda to defray the expenses of said City

SECTION HIllE: The City Clerk shall certify to the pusage
10 of this Ordinance by a tw~thirds vote ot the COIIIlIton Council, and
11 cause the same to be published in .the SAN BERlIARDIHO EVENING TELEGRAM
12 a da11y newspaper published and circulated it\. the City of San
13 Bernardino, tor three consecutive days.
