Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
Previously resolutions have been presented to the Mayor and Common Council for
authorization to impose liens on certain parcels of property for uncollected Business
Registration fees.
Recommended Motion:
That the hearing be closed; that the City Clerk be directed to administratively remove
any properties from Exhibit A which have been paid prior to the hearing; and that said
resolution be adopted.

STAFF REPORT
Subject:
Public Hearing and Resolution imposing liens on property located within the City of
San Bernardino for uncollected Business Registration fees.
Background:
Chapter 5.04.076 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code authorizes the city to impose
liens on the real property described as Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, for uncollected business registration fees and all future fees and
penalties.
Financial Impact:
None
Recommendation:
That the hearing be closed; that the City Clerk be directed to administratively remove
any properties from Exhibit "A" which have been paid prior to the hearing; and that
said resolution be adopted.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
~ SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino, pursuant to its authority under San
9
10 Bernazdino Municipal Code Chapter 5.04.076 does hereby impose liens on the real property
11 described as Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, for
12 uncollected business registration fees and all future fees and penalties.
13 Due notice was given to the person or persons having an interest in said property
14 and a hearing was held by the Mayor and Common Council to hear protests and to assess the
15 fees imposed on said property.

SECTION 2. The matter having now come before the Mayor and Common
17
18 Council for confirmation of the imposition of the liens imposed, the following fees are found
19 o have been uncollectible after proper notification to the property/business owner pursuant
20 o proceedings under said provisions of the San Bemazdino Municipal Code. The statements
21 f fees on file with the City Clerk are hereby confirmed and adopted as special assessments
22 against the properties listed on Exhibit "A" hereto.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution
5
6 with the Auditor of the County of San Bemazdino, State of California, directing the said sum
7 be entered as lien charges against said property as it appears on the current assessment rolls,
g to be collected at the same time and in the same manner, subject to the same penalties and
9 interest upon delinquencies, as the general taxes for the City of San Bernardino aze collected.
10 The City Clerk shall present for recording appropriate notices of the imposition of these liens
11 the County Recorder.
