.:. Provide case management services to over 500 mentee family members
to reduce risk factors and for Family Violence Prevention. Engage
parentsl guardians in improving educational and behavioral outcomes of
students as well as take advantage of health prevention and maintenance
opportunities.
.:. Provide Parenting Classes in English and Spanish and facilitate the
conferences, workshops and activities by providing Childcare services for
those with children from newborn to 5 years old.
.:. Contact with the school district for development of formal evaluation
protocols, tools and reports on project effectiveness in reducing negative
outcomes among Mentees and families.
Project Description:
We are requesting funding for $ 4,788.03 to continue with The Mentoring
Program Parenting Classes in Spanish and English for mentee's parents.
Those classes, conferences and workshops will help to reduce or eliminate
Family Violence by presentation and training in various topics such as drugs
& alcohol abuse and prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, youth
development, ADHD, alternative to gang involve, provide health referrals,
and behavior management as well.

.:. Equipment-Computer System: To be used for administration of confidential files,
documentation of clients and staff and administration of program records.
.:. Lunch Services: These funds will cover the cost of lunch for 40 adults enrolled in the day-
long parenting classes that occur IO times per year. Classes include warning signs of drug
and alcohol abuse, communication skills, and teenage pregnancy prevention among others.
.:. Childcare Services: Provides funding for childcare services for children of parenting class
students. Without this care most parents would not be able to attend.
