As principal of her own design and space planning firm, Alycia Enciso and Associates, for the past twenty
seven years and as owner of her furniture dealership, Purchasing Furniture Systems, for the past sixteen
years, Alycia D. Enciso has earned a reputation for outstanding professional skill, expertise and service in
Residential, Corporate, Senior Housing and Health Care Planning and Design.
Her abilities have been recognized in International Competitions as Winner of the International Design for
Excellence in Interior Design at the Design International Conference in Paris, France and the Women in
Design International Award for Excellence in Interior Design at the Congress of Women Architects and
Town Planners in Berlin, Germany and the Home Fashion League Award in Los Angeles.
Her work has been published in several magazines and newspapers.
Ms. Enciso has also received awards as a young artist for a Prismacolor art Competition in Guadalajara,
Mexico and an art competition by the San Bernardino Sun in California.
Prior to opening her own company in January 1979, she held positions in interior design, fashion
consulting, showroom sales & design. She was chairperson and director of a variety of design-related
activities while at U.C.L.A. Extension.

Ms. Enciso was the Chair ofthe 34" Congressional District Student Art Competition an event she holds
very dear and close to her heart, Ms. Enciso is chair Emeritus of the 34" Congressional Art Competition.
She is a Civic Volunteer and community leader and served on the City of Los Angeles as an Appointee as
a Commissioner on the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Commission from 1993 to 2004 as Chair of
Civic design appointed by Mayor Richard Riordan. Prior to that she selVed on the Greek Theater Advisory,
and was Chair !Founder of "Youth at the Greek Festival 1993" appointed by Mayor Tom Bradley. Ms.
Enciso was a member of the Board of Directors of Design International and Women in Design, professional
organizations. She has been recognized for her fund-raising and special events, as active program council
member of the National Network of Hispanic Women. Ms. Enciso was a member of the Board of Direclors
of the Latin Business Association as Vice President of Ways and Means and was member of the Latin
Business Foundation, the Vikki Carr Scholarship Foundation, and the Board of Trustees of HOPE
(Hispanas Organized for Political Equality) and the General Services Advisory in Sacramento and was
President of HOPE Education and Leadership Fund. Ms. Enciso is currently, the chair and Founder of
"Latinos in Hollywood" the photographic exhibit, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Latino
Theater Center and Remarkable Women of California committee with the First Lady of California Maria
Shriver. Ms. Enciso was involved in the San Bernardino" Arts on 5" "Grand Opening with Latinos in
Hollywood and special guest Barbara Carrera. Ms. Enciso is a board member of the San Bernardino
Symphony. Ms. Enciso has received several community, business, and civic awards.
Ms. Enciso is a native of San Bernardino, the eldest daughter of a family of ten children. The Enciso
Family has been an active part of San Bernardino Community since 1950. She graduated from Our Lady of
Guadalupe School, Collegio Independencia, St. Bernardine's High School, and San Bernardino Valley
College, attends Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing and transferred and graduated from the
Interior and Environmental Design program from The University of Los Angeles Extension.
Among her interests are her family (including her father, mother, nine brothers and sisters, 36 nieces and
nephews, grand nieces and her lovely cocker spaniels) a love of community affair, travel, photography,
architecture and the arts.
She is collector of original works of Californian, Asian and Contemporary Mexican artists. Ms. Enciso has
traveled extensively, with annual visits to Mexico and trips to Central America, Europe, several trips to the
Far East, and Canada and throughout the United States. She is fluent in Spanish as well as English.
