Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On April 6, 1998 the Mayor and Common Council approved and adopted resolution 98-93, which authorized
the execution of a first amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the San
Bernardino Economic Development Agency for the lease/purchase of fire apparatus (Project # 97-229).
On February 16, 1998 the Mayor and Common Council approved and adopted resolution 98-69, which
authorized the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the San Bernardino
Economic Development Agency for the lease/purchase of an All Wheel Steer Aerial Ladder Truck and other
equipment.
On January 12, 1998, the Mayor and Common Council approved and adopted the Community
Development Citizen Advisory Committee's recommendations for reallocation of 1996/97 fiscal year
funds, with modifications and caveats, and authorized the Mayor to submit these projects as part of the
Third Year Action Plan component of the Consolidated Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Develoment.
On May 5,1997, the Mayor and Common Council approved and adopted the Community Development Citizen
Advisory Committee's recommendations for the 1997/98 Fiscal Year Federal funds. Included in this action, was
. the approval of projects for funding during the mid-year reallocation process (to reprogram certain 1996/1997
FY funds) with amendments.

STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT:
Fire Apparatus Workshop for the Common Council and Mayor.
BACKGROUND:
The Common Council Fire Apparatus AdHoc Committee met in December and
identified fire apparatus replacement needs and directed the Fire Department to
present a workshop for the Common Council and Mayor concerning this issue.
The Department shall present an overview of fire apparatus replacement needs,
a fire apparatus replacement program, and funding recommendations.
