The seven courts at Perris Hill Park Tennis Center are in serious need of repair. The courts have not been resurfaced since 1988 and in their current condition are worn and slippery and pose safety problems to the users. Two of the courts have experienced serious paint chipping and require complete sand blasting. The tennis courts at Perris Hill Park are heavily utilized and extremely popular with the tennis players in the community. A recent volunteer project by the local tennis players and a Boy Scout Troop resulted in the repainting of the tennis net posts, light poles and tennis pro-shop. The resurfacing of these courts will contribute greatly to a much improved facility as well as improving their playability and safety. Recommend approval of this expenditure. PHTenCrts-u 11/7/96
