03-22-95 - Approved lease agreement for rental of County
racks and circuits through June 30, 1995.
Recommended motion:
1. Authorize budget amendment in the amount of $71,424.00 from
the MIS Fund to the Fiscal Year 1996/97 MIS Communications
Rental Account to cover charges for Fiscal Year 1995/96 Rack
Spaces and Circuit Leases, and
2. Adopt Resolution.

STAFF REPORT
The City owned 800Mhz trunked radio system and mobile data
terminal system are supported by County owned microwave circuits
and installed within County owned equipment racks at County
800Mhz broadcasting sites.
Throughout fiscal 95/96 and a portion of 96/97, the number of
racks and circuits in use by the City fluctuated up and down while
the County reconfigured the system various ways and ran tests
to arrive at the best configuration for radio communication clarity
and coverage.
The final configuration has been established and has performed
well for the remainder of the 96/97 fiscal period.
The County has tracked rack and circuit usage throughout the
state of flux and billed the City for the 95/96 period in the
amount of $71,424.00.
This item requests authorization for the Finance Director to
perform a budget transfer from the MIS Fund into the current MIS
Communications rental account to cover the 95/96 charges.
