RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO TO AUlHORIZE AND DIRECT THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENTS TO
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING AGREEMENTS
BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND CORRESPONDING AGENCIES.

Fint Amendment to CDBG Agreements
On May 6, 1996, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino approved and
adopted the Community Development Citizen Advisory Committee's (CDCAC) recommendations
and authorized the Mayor to execute CDBG Agreements.
On October 21, 1996, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino approved
and authorized the Mayor to execute CDBG Agreements for the Reallocations projects.

e The above projects have not been completed and it is appropriate and necessary to amend the
Agreements to extend the expiration date to September 30, 1997. This time extension will allow
for the completion of these projects.
Recommendation
It is appropriate for the Mayor and Common Council to approve the execution of the
Amendments to the CDBG Agreements between the City of San Bernardino and the above
Agencies.
Based on the foregoing, staff recommends adoption of the attached Resolution.

TIllS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 96-100 referred to as ("Amendment"),
is made and entered into this _ day of JlINE 1997 by and between the CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO. a Municipal Corporation, referred to as ("City"), and ARROWHEAD UNITED v
WAY, a community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and Subrecipient
agree as follows:

Community Development Block Grant
Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 96-100 , dated

benefits, directories for clients, utilities and a portion of the insurance costs for information and
referral services for needy residents; and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the
Subrecipient's completion of the modifications; and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend agreement to extend the time for
project implementation.
Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the
mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows:

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Funds will be used to provide infonnation and referral services to persons needing programs
that provide food, emergency and permanent shelter and housing, jobs rental assistance,
mental health care, domestic violence services, child care and other support services.
Funds will be used specifically to pay for salary and benefits, directories for clients, utilities
and a portion of the insurance costs.
