MOTION:
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE EXECUTION OF THE AMENDMENT TO
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE SAN BERNARDINO POLICE
DEPARTMENT.

First Amendment to CDBG Agreements
On October 21, 1996, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino approved
and authorized the Mayor to execute a CDBG Agreement for the following project.
Capital ImprovementJRehabilitation
96-131 S. B. Police Department Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) $ 21,864
The above project has not been completed and it is appropriate and necessary to amend the
Agreement to extend the expiration date to December 31, 1997. This time extension will allow
for the completion of this project.
Recommendation
It is appropriate for the Mayor and Common Council to approve the execution of the Amendment
to the CDBG Agreement between the City of San Bernardino and the San Bernardino Police
Department.
. Based on the foregoing, staff recommends adoption of the attached Resolution.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVEWPMENT BLOCK GRANT
AGREEMENT
TIllS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 96-131 referred to as ("Amendment"),
is made and entered into this _ day of JUNE 1997 by and between the CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, a Municipal Corporation, referred to as ("City"), and SAN BERNARDINO
POLICE DEPARTMENT, a community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City
and Subrecipient agree as follows:
WITNESSETH
Community Development Block Grant
Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 96-131 , dated
. NOVEMBER 1. 1996, referred to as ("Agreement"), for a match needed to obtain a Federal Local
Law Enforcement Block Grant for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management
System (RMS) for the safety of San Bernardino residents; and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the
Subrecipient's completion of the modifications; and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend agreement to extend the time for
project implementation.
Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the
mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows:
I. Change the language in Section 3 Tenns.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
Funds will be used for a match needed to obtain a Federal Local Law Enforcement Block
Grant that will be used to purchase a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records
Management System (RMS) for the safety of San Bernardino residents.
