Esccna Street, San Hemardino.'We would have complied with the requirement to obtain a busines~ license had we known such a requirement exi~tcd. We purchased this property on 28 June 1991 and occupied it from that date until 15 August 1993. Both, my wife and] had our lives disrupted when her job at Norton AHi. and my job at <Jeneral Dynamics, Pomona. disappeared. ] subsequently accepted an . ':C. .r employment with JJughes in Tucson, and listed the pmpeliy for sale (with Betsy or,,; of Lois Lauer Realty) effective 16 August 1993. Receiving no aceept.1ble ,".l..;ba,e offers, we accepted an offer to lease beginning 1 December 1993. We never considered (perhaps wrongly! that leasing this property is a business. We arc certainly willing to comply, however, this is a totally unexpected cxpcn~c and we mus~ ask for an extension until 12 April 1996. Furthcr. we disagree with the fee shown ($240.00). We believe the correct fee owed is $180.00 which would be tor 1994, 1995, and 1996; or $185.00 jf the month of December 1993 (lease start dlltc) is included. Please advise.
