STAFF REPORT
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve the
procurement of three (3) one (1) ton pick-up trucks with service
bodies for the Public Works Department, Street Lighting and Traffic
signals Division. The Vehicle Replacement Fund provides for the
replacement of the three (3) trucks. Vehicles 0212 and 639 are 3/4
ton pick ups, however, both haul heavy specialized equipment which
requires a pick up with greater hauling capacity. The vehicles
scheduled for replacement are listed below:

Notices inviting bids for three (3) 1997 one (1) ton pick-up trucks
with service bodies, Bid No. F-97-16-E, were sent to 28 vendors;
twelve (12) bids were received and opened on January 30, 1997. The
results are as follows:

The cost and technical specifications of all bids were reviewed.
The low bid of Wondries Ford was found to be acceptable and met or
exceeded all items called for in the specification.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the
Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for the amount of
$67,287.72 to Wondries Ford to purchase three (3) 1997 one (1) ton
pick-up trucks with service bodies.
