CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Staff Report
Subiect:
Resolutions of the City of San Bernardino authorizing the Mayor of the City of San Bernardino
or her designee to apply for grant funds under the provisions of the 2002 Resources Bond Act
(Proposition 40) for two programs: the Roberti-l'berg-Harris Urban Open Space and Recreation
Program and the Per Capita Grant Program.
Back2round:
The City has received notification of allocations under subject Bond Act. The City is allocated
$513,951 in the Roberti-l'berg Harris Program and $835,000 in the Per Capita Program.
To submit the application for the funding, the State requires that two separate resolutions be
adopted by the City, one for each program. Once the Mayor and Common Council adopt these
two resolutions applying for the grant funding, the City will then receive a contract from the
State. Upon receipt of the contract the City will then be authorized to prepare applications for
various projects for enhancement of our parks and recreation facilities. Projects to be funded
under Prop 40 have been approved in the 2003-04 CIP.
Financial Impact:
These two programs do not require City matching funds.
Recommendation:
Adopt Resolutions.
