CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO . REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
NAMING OF NEW PARK IN HONOR OF PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN
This new park will be four acres nestled in between existing homes and 127 new
homes. It will be linked to the trail system that will have duel use for pedestrians,
as well as equestrians, and will provide access for families throughout the area to
enjoy. Naming the park after President Ronald Reagan, former President of the
United States, as well as former Governor for the State of California, would be an
appropriate recognition of America's 40th President, given his strong belief in
family and his passion for riding.
It is recommended that the new park, that will be located in the Paraiso Estates,
south of the Chestnut Trail System, just below Irvington Avenue, be named in
honor of President Ronald Reagan.

Dear Councilman Kelley,
On behalf of Mrs, Reagan, we would like to thank you for your interest in naming San
Bernardino's most recent park after President Ronald Reagan, We know that he would
have been touched by your sentiment As you may be aware, President Reagan loved the
outdoors and hoped that more people would learn to enjoy our natural surroundings.
It is with honor that we give you permission to use President Reagan's name for your
new park and wish you all the best in your current endeavors, We give this permission
with the hope that many people in your community will love and appreciate, like
