CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 94-66 ENTITLED IN PART, "RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AND MODIFYING FEES FOR USE OF PUBLIC FACILITmS, INCLUDING PUBLIC PARKS." Resolution No. 94-66 is being recommended for amendment to accomplish the following objects: Section 8 - Deleted. Section 8 established a Trust Account for Sturges Auditorium. Section 5, Paragraph A - Rental fees for Sturges Auditorium are deleted. Fees for use of ballfields is increased from $ 225 to $ 285. A fee of $ 165 is established for use without lights. Section 5, Paragraph B - A $ 5 reissue fee for family swim passes is established. The $ 5 fee is to cover staff time and materials to reissue lost or stolen passes. Section 5, Paragraph C - Equipment and services no longer available through this department are deleted. These include a dunk tank, a bullhorn, the piano, lighting, ticket booth and microphone at Sturges Auditorium and the piano at FDR Bowl. Section 5, Paragraph G - Additional language is included to establish "traditional" seasons for youth sports. Exemption from fees for non-profit youth-serving organizations are restricted to traditional seasons. Youth sports organizations which are expanding to year-round programs and are requesting use of ballfield lights will be subject to light fees outside of their traditional seasons. The limitation of free light usage to the traditional seasons will avoid the city having to absorb the 15-20 percent increase in light fees that are anticipated. 7/31/97 amt fXlliliesbs
