CARE CENTERS IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. Whereas, under current State law, the Parole and Community Services Division is allowed to place parolees, who are registered sex offenders, in housing facilities in close proximity to day care centers within residential areas as long as the number of parolees is six or less; and Whereas, the Wildwood Park Neighborhood Association discovered that in January 2006, Parole and Community Services Division placed six parolees, who were also sex offenders, in a rental home at 280 E. 48th Street, next to a licensed day care center at 284 East 48th Street.
