ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 763 ENTITLED IN PART "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING
OF BUSINESSES. . ."; AND ADDING A REFERENCE TO CHAPTER 5D IN THE
NOTICES TO APPEAR PROVISIONS.
THE MAYOR AND CO~~ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 763 Section Eight is amended to
read:

"SECTION EIGHT: The City Clerk, or her authorized repre-
9 sentatives, and police officers, are empowered to enter, during
10 business hours, free of charge, any place of business, or to
II approach any person apparently conducting or employed in the
12 operation of a business, for which a license is required pursuant
13 to this ordinance, and to demand the exhibition of such license
14 for the current term. If such person shall then and there fail to
15 exhibit such license, the authorized representative or police
16 officer is hereby authorized and empowered to arrest and issue
17 notices to appear pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance,
18 relating to licensing of businesses within the City, and Section
19 836.5 and Chapters 5C and 5D (commencing with Section 853.6) of
20 the Penal Code of the State of California.
21 Such representatives and police officers shall ascertain
22 the name of any person, firm, corporation or association engaging n
23 or carrying on any business, show, exhibition or game in the City
24 of San Bernardino who or which is liable to obtain and pay for a
25 license and shall require that such license be obtained and that
26 the appropriate fee or tax be paid. The Chief of Police and other
27 departments of the City shall assist and cooperate as may be re-
28 qui red to enable the fulfillment of the imposed duties and
