CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Staff Report SUBJECT: Authorization to Proceed and Approval of Plan No. 11813 - Proposed vacation ofa portion of "I" Street, northerly of 13th Street and a portion of 13th Street westerly of "I" Street. BACKGROUND: On March 24, 2006, an application was received from Charles J. Bonadiman, on behalf of the developer, Joseph E. Bonadiman & Associates, Inc., requesting the vacation of a portion of "I" Street, Northerly of 13th Street & a portion of 13th Street westerly of"r' Street. On behalf of the property owners of the adjacent lots, Thomas Brickley, Kimberly Brickley, Shane Brickley and Melanie Brickley, the developer has requested this vacation of the portion of "I" Street and 13th Street to join the owner's parcels. (See attachment A) This will create a parcel that will facilitate the expansion of the existing use as an environmental remediation facility. The proposed area to be vacated is shown on the attached plan. (See attachment C) If authorization to proceed is given, all city departments and utility companies will be notified to determine if any conflicts exist. The findings will need to be made that the proposed vacation of this portion of "I" Street, northerly of 13th Street and a portion of 13th Street westerly of"r' Street is no longer needed for public right-of-way. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. The petitioner has paid the first half ofthe processing fee of $600. Once the investigative proceedings are complete, the second half of the processing fee of$600 will be paid. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that authorization to proceed with the proposed vacation is given and that Plan No. 11813 be approved. , .
