RESOLUTION NO. 2006-140
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF THE FUNDING REQUEST
FORM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION, DIVISION OF RECYCLING
FOR CALIFORNIA BEVERAGE CONTAINER RECYCLING AND LITTER
REDUCTION ACTIVITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the people of the State of California have enacted the California
Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act that provides funds to cities and
counties for beverage container recycling and litter cleanup activities;
SECTION 2. That the California Department of Conservation, Division of Recycling
has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State,
setting up necessary procedures for cities and counties or their designees under the program;
SECTION 3. That per Section 14581 (a)(4)(E) qf the California Beverage Container
Recycling and Litter Reduction Act, the eligible participant must submit the Funding Request
Forrn by the due date and time in order to be considered to receive funds from the Department
of Conservation, Division of Recycling;
SECTION 4. That the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino
authorize the submittal of the Grant Application Form to the California Department of
Conservation, Division of Recycling (attached hereto as Exhibit "A"). The Mayor of the City of
San Bernardino, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute in the name of the City of
San Bernardino all necessary forms hereto for the purposes of securing payments and to
implement and carry out the purposes specified in the Section 14581 (a)(4)(A) of the California
Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act and provide information regarding this
program to the Division upon request.

Project Description
Continued funding for the expansion of beverage container recycling programs at Californina State University San Bernardino and
San Bernardino Valley College. Promotion of beverage container recycling special events/venues such as Arrowhead Credit Union
Park and Environmental EXPO. Recycling Rewards matching funds for schools that recycle beverage containers. Support of the
Environmental Leadership and Mentoring (ELM) Program promoting waste reduction and recycling at facilities and schools by
training youth participants to implement programs.
