CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO -REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT SUBJECT Resolution implementing Memorandum of Understanding between the City of San Bernardino and employees in the General bargaining unit represented by the San Bernardino Public Employees' Association (SBPEA). BACKGROUND On October 3, 2001, the Mayor and Common Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOD) with the General Employees' bargaining unit. The contract states that the General Unit will receive a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) of four percent (4%), effective January I, 2003. This COLA will result in the entire pay scale moving upward by four percent (4%). Resolution No. 2002-73, a Resolution amending Resolution No. 6413, Section Ten, needs to be updated to reflect the above cost-of-living adjustment for the General Unit employees. FINANCIAL IMPACT There is no financial impact to amend this resolution. The cost of the four percent (4%) COLA has already been factored into the FY 02-03 budget. RECOMMENDATION Adopt Resolution.
