Recommended motion:
That the plans for installation of traffic signals at Valencia
Avenue and 21st Street, in accordance with Plan No. 8269, be
approved, and the Director of Public Works/City -Engineer
authorized to advertise for bids.

One of the conditions of approval for C.U.P. 88-57 was
that a left turn lane be provided on 21st Street. St.
Bernardine Medical Center has requested that this work be in-
cluded in the contract for the traffic signals. We will include
the left turn lane in the contract documents as an Additive
Alternate.

The Development Agreement provides that St. Bernardine
Medical Center will pay $120,000 to the City to finance the
costs of installing the traffic signals. A payment of $123,480
has been received from the Center, which was adjusted to account
for inflation. This amount has been allocated under Account No.
242-362-57377.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
