STAFF REPORT
Subject:
Initiation of a General Plan Amendment for a site
located on the west side of David Way, approxi-
mately 720 feet north of 40th Street.
Mayor and Common Council Meeting of October 1,
1990.
During the land use hearings for the adoption of the General
Plan, the site (see attached) inadvertently was designated
PFC, Public Flood Control which permits flood control and
open space uses. The site, which contains 6 single-family
residential units, is in the city's Sphere of Influence and
is proposed for annexation.
If the annexation is approved, continuation of the PFC
designation will render the residential uses legal noncon-
forming and could place a hardship on the property owners. A
single-family residential designation would be compatible
with the existing land uses in the surrounding area.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and Common Council direct the
Planning Division to initiate a General Plan Amendment for
the site located on the west side of David Way, approximately
720 feet north of 40th Street.
