Plan approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids.
Transfer of $20,000 from Acct. No. 243-363-57531 to Acct. No.
243-363-57524 approved.
Resolution No. 89-434 adopted, awarding a contract for the low bid price
of $214,344.50.

Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. Three to the contract for Construction of Improvements
to Perris Hill Park, in accordance with Plan No. 7556, be approved; to

the contract price of $8,865.99, from $223,716.00 to $232,581.99.

STAFF REPORT
The electrical service for this project was designed to
connect to existing 2400 volt oil switches, then be stepped down
to 240 volts through a transformer, and finally serve the new
facilities through existing electrical conduit and conductors.
During installation, representatives from the Edison
Company informed us that the existing oil switches were
antiquated, and unsafe for use. It was also determined that the
transformer could not be located within the electrical room as
designed, due to lack of necessary space as required by the
Uniform Building Code. Additionally, the existing conductors
did not meet the size requirements of the National Electrical
Code for the amount of current that will be needed to adequately
serve the new park improvements.
An alternate source of electrical service was located in
an adjacent City building. Change Order No. Three authorizes
the Contractor to reroute the electrical service within the
adjacent building, modify the existing service panel, and
replace the existing underground conduit and conductors with new
materials that are in compliance with applicable codes and regu-
lations.

Building Basement.

continued to the afternoon in order to receive certain
financial information.
The total estimated project cost, based upon the actual low
bid price, is:

The electrical system serving perris Hill Park was installed
many years ago, possibly during the 1930's as a PWA Project.
Contract Change Orders No. j and 3 were for additional work
needed to bring the existing electrical system up to code, in
order to serve the new improvements.
