Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Recommended motion:
1. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City
Clerk are authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation of
a portion of Edgehill Road, East of Little Mountain Drive.
2. That Plan No. 8159, showing the proposed vacation of a portion
of Edgehill Road, East of Little Mountain Drive, be approved.
3. That the request of the Homeowners Association for repairs to
the street prior to vacation be denied.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received from the Edgehill Village Homeowners' Association through
the Edgehill Management Corporation to vacate Edgehill Road, East of Little
Mountain Drive. The Northerly 30 feet of Edgehill Drive will revert to the
Edgehill Village Homeowners' Association and the Southerly 30 feet is owned by
the City of San Bernardino
This request comes as a result of the murder of one of the property owners this
past December. 276 condominium unit owners were polled and BO'J, have agreed with
the proposed vacation. Future plans include the installation of automatic
vehicular gates and perimeter fencing to limit unauthorized entry. The only
other property owner involved is the City of San Bernardino. The Northerly edge
of Blair Park abuts Edgehill Road, but entry to the Park is available from Little
Mountain Drive, 33rd Street and Marshall Boulevard.
As the Southerly half of Edgehill Road is City-owned property, the City will need
to convey the property to the Edgehill Village Homeowners' Association in order
for them to enclose the property being vacated.
The Edgehill Management Corporation has enclosed a street condition report that
indicates an amount of approximately $3,300 need be spent in maintenance and
repairs to the street prior to the completion of the street vacation.
Staff recommends that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City
Clerk be authorized and directed to proceed with the proposed vacation of
Edgehill Road, East of Little Mountain Drive.

Dear Mr. Hardgrave:
Enplosed is the application and $375 to process the request for street vacation. There
are 276 condominium units adjacent to the street which have been polled resulting in 80%
agreement (copy enclosed). There are no other neighbors with Uttle Mountain on two sides
and Blair Park to the south.
Over the Mure years, the Board of Directors intends to install automatic vehicular control
gates and perimeter fencing to deter unauthorized entry as happened relating to the murder
in December.
Of concem to the Board is the enclosed street condition report which would need to
be negotiated prior to acceptance of vacation.
