ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION 3.52.030 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE AMOUN'l' OF THE UNIFORM TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 3.52.030 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code i. hereby amended to read as follows: "3.52.030 Tax Imposed For the privilege of occupancy in any hotel, each transient is subject to and shall pay a tax in the amount of Ten percent (lOt> of the rent charged by the operator. The tax constitutes a debt owed by the transient to the City which is extinguished only by payment to the operator or to the City. The transient shall pay the tax ,to the operator of the hotel at the time the rent is paid. If the rent is paid in installments, a proportionate share of the tax shall be paid with each installment. The unpaid tax shall be due when the Transient ceases to occupy space in the hotel. If for any reason the tax is not paid to the operator of the hotel, such tax shall be paid directly to the City Clerk. . RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO STATING THE INTENT OF THE.MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE USE OF TWENTY PERCENT OF THE RE'lJNUES OF THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX. WHEREAS, tourism is one of the largest industries in California, producing substantial jobs and the influx of billions of dollars into the economy of the State of California annually, and WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino has previously recognized the importance of the tourism industry through the formation of the San Bernardino Convention and Visitors Bureau ("CVB"), and WHEREAS, a properly funded CVB the share of the tourist dollars could substantially increase ti spent in the City 9.f San ..
