RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO TEMPORARILY CLOSING WESTERN
AVENUE, BETWEEN KENDAll DRIVE AND FORTY-EIGHTH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. Findings. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of

San Bernardino make the following findings:
A. Western Avenue, between Kendall Drive and Forty-eighth Street
in the City of San Bernardino, is not currently needed for vehicular traffic.
B. The section of street designated in this resolution is frequent-
ly used as an escape route for illegal activities perpetrated on the adjacent
residential community.
C. Subsection (a) of California Vehicle Code Section 21101 author-
izes local authorities to adopt rules and regulations by ordinance or reso1u-
tion to temporarily close any highway to vehicular traffic when the highway is
no longer needed for vehicular traffic.
SECTION 2. Closing. Pursuant to subsection (a) of Section 21101 of
the California Vehicle Code, the following street is temporarily closed:
Western Avenue between Kendall Drive and 48th Street.
SECTION 3. Barricades. The Superintendent of Public Services is
directed to erect and maintain appropriate barricades on the closed streets.
