HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-129 22 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 83-129 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ACCEPTING GRANT AWARD FROM OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING FOR CAREER CRIMINAL APPREHENSION AND PROSECUTION PROGRAM. 3 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 SECTION 1. Recitals. 7 (a) The Office of Criminal Justice Planning of the State of 8 California has granted to the City of San Bernardino a grant award 9 covering grant period July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, in the amount 10 of $89,000, conditioned upon the City's matching such award by 11 applying funds of its own in the amount of $7,500, for a total 12 project cost of $96,500, for a Career Criminal Apprehension and 13 Prosecution Program. 14 (b) The City of San Bernardino desires to undertake a 15 certain project designated Career Criminal Apprehension and 16 Prosecution Project to be funded in part from funds made available 17 through State General Funds fiscal year 1981/1982 as authorized by 18 Chapter 1292 of the 1982 Statutes for the Career Criminal 19 Apprehension progra, administered by the Office of Criminal 20 Justice Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP). 21 SECTION 2. Implementation. (a) The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby 23 authorized and directed to accept and to execute formal 24 acceptance on behalf of the City of San Bernardino of the grant 25 award from OCJP for establishment of such Career Criminal 26 Apprehension and Prosecution Program, including any extensions or 27 amendments thereof, such award being accepted for law enforcement 28 purposes. -,~-~ 1 1 (b) The City of San Bernardino covenants and agrees that it 2 will provide all matching funds required for said project 3 (including any extension or amendment thereof) under the Career 4 Criminal Apprehension Program and the rules and regulations of 5 OCJP, and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby. 6 (c) The City of San Bernardino further covenants and agrees 7 that grant funds received under this program shall not be used to 8 supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled by this body. 9 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly 10 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San 11 Bernardino at an adiournp.cJ regllli'lr meeting thereof, held 12 on the 9th day of , 1983, by the following Hav 13 vote, to wit: 14 AYES: Council Members Castaneda.
